Just received an e-mail confirming that my application to the British Science Association Media Fellowship was successful. I'll be spending 3-4 weeks full time between July and early September on placement at the Scotsman in Edinburgh. I will also attend press conferences and find and write stories from the British Science Festival Press Centre in Aberdeen from 3-8 September. I'm really excited to have been selected for this Fellowship and I think it will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the media and communicating science. When I read the reports from the previous Fellows, I was really impressed at how much they achieved during their placements and how they were actively involved in writing stories from day 1 so I'm sure this will be a challenging, fun and rewarding experience. More details about the scheme can be found here.
